Join our Crew

Time to clock-in!

Representation matters. Ptarmigan Ptheatrics is committed to showcasing the diversity of our community, and to creating a space where people can feel comfortable to be themselves in every capacity. With this in mind, we encourage people of all races, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, religious affiliations, and abilities to join our crew, as these represent the audience we serve.

Based on the 1980 movie of the same name, 9 to 5 features lyrics and music by Dolly Parton. Join us as the alarm clocks ring and the sounds of coffee being poured fill the theatre!

Crew Requirements

Ptarmigan Ptheatrics is looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our technical crew.

The time commitment for crew can vary based on the position, so we encourage anyone interested to reach out. Chances are, we can find somewhere that fits your needs!

What does a Crew Member do?

This 100% depends on the position. Below are some examples of crew positions to help get you thinking about where you might fit...

  • Assistant Stage Management

    • The Assistant Stage Manager (ASM) is responsible for assisting the Stage Manager throughout the rehearsal process. This can include tracking where props end up, giving line notes to the actors, and helping keep things organized backstage.

    • The ideal ASM will be available for all rehearsals. The ASM must be available for all tech rehearsals and all performances.

  • Designer

    • A designer is responsible for designing a technical element of the show that make up the world of the characters! Design elements include costumes, set, sound, lighting, and props.

    • A designer is responsible for communicating with the Director, so they can ensure the world is cohesive.

    • A designer is responsible for making the designs come to life (with the help of our crew) and communicating with the Director and Stage Manager on progress.

    • An ideal designer will be available for occasional rehearsals, and all tech rehearsals.

  • Running Crew

    • A runner is responsible for helping backstage during performances. This can include, but is not limited to, helping actors with quick changes, moving set pieces, operating the sound board, and more.

    • Running crew does not have to attend rehearsals, but must be available for all tech rehearsals and all performances.

Rehearsals will begin in late-January. Full cast rehearsals will run on Wednesday evenings (6:30PM to 9:30PM) and Sunday afternoons (1:00PM to 5:00PM). Acting rehearsals (lead roles & speaking characters) will run on Monday evenings (6:30PM to 9:30PM) and Thursday evenings (6:30PM to 9:30PM).

9 to 5 will load in to the NACC theatre on April 14th. From there, the rehearsal schedule will increase until the show's run (April 22nd to May 4th).
